Laser therapy is a drug free, non-invasive treatment option that is painless and has no side effects.
High powered Class IV Laser Therapy delivered from our laser devices targets damaged tissues by using specific light wavelengths that have been found to interact with tissue and accelerate the healing process. Light energy from the laser passes through the skin, into the cell membrane, initiating a process called photobiostimulation. This process enhances the body's natural regenerative functions and leads to healing damaged or injured tissue.
The result is accelerated wound healing, as well as reduced pain, stiffness, swelling, and spasms. Function is restored to the damaged area and patients are able to resume their favorite activities.
What does a laser treatment feel like?
There is often little to no sensation during a laser treatment, however, many patients experience a soothing warmth over the area being treated. In some cases, a patient may have soreness 6-24 hours following the first treatment due to mild inflammation which is caused initially by the healing process. This soreness usually subsides after 1-2 days.
How long does a visit take?
Visits usually last less than 15 minutes.
How many treatments will I need?
This depends on each individual's unique condition. If you have an acute condition, 4-6 sessions may be all that is needed. However, if you have a chronic condition, you will likely need 6-12 (or more) sessions. If you have severe arthritis, for example, you may require ongoing, periodic care to manage pain.
How long will it take to experience results?
You may feel some pain relief after just one session. Sometimes, however, you will not experience any improvement until after several treatments. Each treatment is cumulative, and you will likely experience lasting improvement after 3-4 visits.
Are there any side effects to laser treatments?
Laser therapy is safe and effective with no side effects.
Does insurance cover laser treatments?
Insurance does not cover the cost of laser treatments, but your flexible spending or health spending account will cover laser treatments. The office staff will provide you with a statement of services that will serve as your receipt.
